Pre-paid race bibs and t-shirts can be collected from the registration area (please see village site map for details) between 7am and 8.45am on the day of the event. Please ensure you provide a hard copy (print out) of your registration receipt along with ID (preferably a driver’s licence) to the registration desk for verification purposes. We suggest you give yourself plenty of time to prepare for your event by arriving early to register, check your bags, etc.
NOTE – Participants who do not provide their receipt will not be able to receive their race bibs or pre-paid t-shirt and will not be permitted to participate in the event.
Registering on the day
Registrations are permitted on the day by visiting one of our registration desks (please see village site map for details) and filling out the appropriate documentation and paying the applicable race fees. NOTE: Whilst we accept registrations on the day, the Brook Run cannot guarantee you will receive a race bib due to the limited number of timing chips and timing equipment available. We highly recommend pre-registration to save money; avoid disappointment and help us provide an outstanding event!
Please note also that CASH ONLY payments can be accepted on the day of the event as there are no EFTPOS facilities available within the village or registration area. The closest ATM’s are located in Stafford City Shopping Centre on Stafford Rd.
Participants are advised and must remember that the Brook Run Course will remain open to the public during the entirety of the event.
Whilst every effort has been made to notify the public of the event taking place, participants may encounter cyclists and non-event walkers/joggers on the route.
Additionally, as sections of the route double back on itself (i.e. participants will be travelling in both directions) participants are requested to keep left at all times and remain vigilant and courteous to other users in an attempt to reduce the risk of any incidents occurring.
Please overtake with care and only when it is safe to do so!
There will be several course marshals out at various points on the course. St. John Ambulance will also have officers close at hand to provide assistance. If you need assistance at any stage please attempt to stop close by one of the marshals.
On the course there will be several water stations – please slow down and have a drink! Regardless of the weather it is important you drink during the event. There will also be water bowls for our four legged friends. At the finish line there will also be water available.
St. John Ambulance will be present at the Start / Finish area. Upon completion of the event if you feel dizzy, light-headed, etc. please make your way to the St. John Ambulance area immediately after the finish line for assistance.
‘Fastest Dog in the Inner North’ event
For your dog’s safety and the safety of other participants, your dog must be on a leash at all times. Your dog must be well socialised and non-aggressive towards people and/or dogs as well as be fully vaccinated and registered to be cleared to participate in this event. During the event please regularly check your dog’s condition. Please do not drag the dog if it can’t keep up with the pace you are running. Course marshals will monitor this and any offending entrants will be warned and then, if the maltreatment of the dog continues, the entrant will be disqualified. Finally, dogs must complete the entire 7km course on their own four legs to be eligible for a prize; i.e. you cannot carry your dog at any stage and be eligible for a prize!
It is particularly important you stay to the left as The 2km QFS Primary School challenge will start shortly after your wave and the faster children will catch you quickly. For everyone’s safety please stay left at all times.
2km QFS Primary School challenge
Parents are welcome to accompany their child however must register as an “accompanying adult” which will entitle you to a bib, but means you will not be timed nor will you be eligible for any prizes. Additionally, you must accompany your child on foot, not on a cycle, scooter, etc. This is for your safety and the safety of the other participants.
Please Note: All categories for the 2km QFS Primary School Challenge will be starting at the same time.
Finally all participants should monitor their health and fitness in the lead up to the event. If you have any doubt about your ability to finish the event safely please do not attempt to compete.
After you finish
We invite you to stay and enjoy what the run village has to offer including family-friendly activities, presentations and prize giving and an array of hospitality options for all to enjoy. See www.thebrookrun.com.au or visit our Facebook page for updates.
Race placings are recorded based on the timing chip information contained within your race bib. Please note: Judges decisions are final and race organisers hold no responsibility for any failure of timing equipment. Team placings are based on the time of the last team member to cross the finish line. The first dog home must have all four paws across the finish line to place!
